Color detection

Light Sources

Xenon flash lamps These pulsed light sources emit a broad spectrum from UV to IR. Other features include compact size, high output intensity, and low thermal effects.
Xenon lamps These lamps emit a broad spectrum from UV to IR, and feature high output intensity, high stability, and long life.

Detectors

Color sensors These color sensors are sensitive to red, green, and blue light. Various active area sizes, packages, and interfaces are available.
GaAsP photodiodes These photodiodes have spectral sensitivity similar to the human eye. The typical response range is 280-760 nm, but some are sensitive down to 190 nm.
Silicon photodiodes These compact and lightweight detectors have excellent sensitivity, low dark current, and excellent linearity. Various sizes and packages (metal, ceramic, plastic, etc.) are available.
Silicon photodiode arrays These detectors consist of multiple photodiode elements arranged in a linear or matrix format.
