There are two standards for in-vehicle data networks: MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport), which is widely used by European automakers, and the AMI-C (Automotive Multimedia Interactive Collaboration) 1394 standard that is being evaluated in the United States, Japan, and other countries. MOST networks utilize ring topologies that feature easy connection between nodes, an easily expandable network, and few cables. On the other hand, AMI-C networks offer high communication speeds, high network efficiency, and connectivity to IEEE 1394 devices.
